Memories
Happy Birthday, Sweetheart...
Although we miss you lots, we're really thankful for all the time and laughs we shared, particularly over the last few years. You'll be happy to know that Jordan - now with only healthy teeth - is happily asleep at my feet as I write this. He misses you, but is still as incorrigable and gaseous as ever. And, miracle of miracles, he may just be a few pounds lighter.
We feel your smile daily.
My Auntie Di....you meant so much to me. I still cannot believe you are gone.
You were always there for me, and my boys. I just don't know what I am going
to do without you. Your fighting spirit was so amazing, it made it difficult to
believe that your time was short. I know you did it your way until the very last
minute......nobody could stand in your way.
The only comfort is that you are no longer in pain, and resting peacefully. I will
always miss you and wish we had more time together. There was still so much
we had planned to do...........I love you.
Gina
It was only these last few months that I got to know you and Jordan. Even on your weakest days, you had a strength and determination that I admired! The last few weeks I was coming every Thursday, and would bring you a hot mocha from Starbucks. Now, when I pass the Sierra Madre Starbucks, I get a lump in my throat, and a tear in my eye, but I also have a smile on my face, because I will take your bravery, your strength, and your fighting spirit, and pass that on to others who are going through their own difficult times. You touched my heart and my life, Diane, and I will never forget you!
Hey Missy....you are the only one I know who would go 6 miles out of your way to go 1 block away, the road warrior that you were driving across country on a whim. You were pretty amazing, Miss Di. You never ceased to amaze me. You always did so much for everybody before yourself.
Remember the night at the magic castle when we were waiting to get in to one of the shows and the guy came out and said, "We only have two seats left"...so we went in only to find that the two seats were the ones on the stage with the Magician...what a hoot that was!
Thanks for teaching me about horses and racing and "horse" remedies.
I know you stayed so very positive until you left us in your sleep. Love you, "Martini"
Diane and I met a few years back, in Lexington, Kentucky. She joined my training operation, at Domino Stud, as Racing Manager for Dan Borislow. We spent a great amount of time together everyday, loving and training the babies. And, of-course, Jordan was the "assistant trainer", "rat-patrol", "guard dog", Little Man", etc!
Diane was always in a good mood and we shared many good times. Our friendship continued and we stayed in touch, via e-mail, telephone and an occasion to see each other. She loved horses and people and her Jordan. She was a good and honest girl and will be missed very much. I will remember our hard work together and the laughs that came with our friendship. Love and miss you Diane!
